Bright digital asset management case study

When Bright, the creators of the Asset Bank digital asset management system, needed content to deliver their marketing strategy, I knew I could help.

As a former marketing manager, who has purchased and rolled out Asset Bank in the past, I know exactly how the system works. And just how useful it is for storing and sharing marketing assets like photos, videos and audio.

So I jumped at the chance to use this DAM expertise to write several ebooks for customers AFTER purchase.

'After purchase? Is that even marketing?'

Yes, absolutely.

Providing post-sales support to help customers make the most of their purchase is essential. A happy and successful customer should be the goal of any transaction, not just making the sale.

Customer success and satisfaction determines:

  • your ongoing relationship

  • the possibility of future custom

  • their likelihood to recommend you to others

Given the cost of acquiring new customers compared to retaining existing ones, and the value of word-of-mouth marketing, post-sales support is an essential element of any marketing strategy.

My knowledge of the product, combined with my insight into the needs of their target customer, helped me create ebooks designed to:

  • help new customers get quickly up-to-speed

  • improve on-boarding of end users

  • provide a framework for communicating about the new system

I loved sharing my understanding of purchasing, implementing and rolling out DAM solutions to help others do the same.

And I absolutely loved working with the fabulous and friendly marketing team at Bright. My experience as a buyer, and now as a supplier, with Bright has always been resoundingly positive.

It looks like the feeling was mutual because I was delighted to receive this feedback from Vic, their strategic and supportive marketing manager:

"Libby's experience as a marketing manager and previous experience of using Bright's flagship product Asset Bank makes her the perfect person to help us when creating middle to bottom of funnel content - particularly when we need to think about what would genuinely help our audience in their decision making process.

It's so easy to get caught up in what you 'think' is important and helps customers but working with someone like Libby who can really open our eyes to real-world examples of challenges she's faced, has meant that we're able to continually deliver content to our audience that is genuinely helpful.

As well as being a really talented writer who can adapt to your brand tone with ease, she's also a great advocate for our product - Libby has been an invaluable extension of the Bright Marketing team."

I'm a nerd at heart and I love technology. I've implemented a number of MarTech and PubTech solutions in my career including:

  • digital asset management

  • on-demand publishing

  • online journal submission systems

So I know a fair bit about the nuts-and-bolts of new tech. As a former marketing manager, I understand the massive benefits they can bring to a business, and the challenges that marketers need to overcome.
